Transference-Focused Psychotherapy

A professional community for growth and development

Transference-Focused Psychotherapy (TFP) is a manualized, evidence-based treatment model designed for borderline, narcissistic, and other severe personality disorders.

The TFP model is grounded on psychoanalytic concepts and techniques, which have been modified and structured into a systematic approach to address complex personality pathologies. TFP is based on the premise that the specific symptoms of borderline pathology stem from a lack of identity integration, which aligns with inconsistency in an individual's experience, self-understanding, and understanding of the others.
In detail
“Firstly, TFP helped me to establish a structural approach in working with borderline and narcissistic personality disorders. Before mastering the method, I didn't know how to work with such patients, and as a result, they would leave therapy while I was left with many unanswered questions. Secondly, the method allowed me to develop profound knowledge in diagnosing personality disorders."
